I disagree.....the resolution of that petty squabble happens to be key to stabilizing the region where lies the largest reserves of the most important global commodity.

So you think Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and the Gulf States (the ME countries with oil) are the way they are because Palestine isn't a nation sitting next to Israel? If Palestine were to
become a nation in the West Bank and Gaza tomorrow, which of the oil rich sheikdoms, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and/or Iran is going to become "stable and normal"? I'd say - none.

You don't actually think Iran is the way Iran is because.........Israel invaded the West Bank in 1967? do you?
