Forget votes here, democracy should mean something on who we ally with. Folks like jttab root against israel so much and hate jews so much that they place their loyalty to american in second place to their loyalty to any group, whether terrorist or not, that joins them in their hateful endeavor. Maybe Abbas sees this now and he and Olmert, two very unlikely heroes, can start resolving this so the checkered history becomes moot

Israel could change it's policies. They'd find more support here, without even NEEDING a lobby of dual-loyalty rabid support, and support in the Arab world as well. There are only 5 million Jews in America - how is it that such a minority exerts so much influence? It CAN'T be just votes. There are much larger minorities with much less influence.

Our uncritical, knee-jerk support provides them with bombs and cover that should be an embarrassment to our country.
