Merely kidnapping a person and conspiring to murder them -- and of course he was murdered as a result -- would earn you a life sentence in America. In Iraq he would have been hung. But in a sympathetic US military court he is spanked and sent to bed without supper. Don't insult the intelligence of people who read these posts by trying to argue that Americans, who granted themselves blanket immunity for any and all acts of violence and murder in Iraq, are somehow being justly punished by the US military -- even those rare cases when they are brought into court and convicted. Tell it to the families of the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians.
