2 presidential elections in recent times, with half the voting population declining to vote, is an indication of lack of desire or whatever to participate in a democratic process.

As an example - I hold dual citizenship - New Zealand and US. I have lived in the US for the last 10 years, and I still vote in NZ elections as well as US elections.

The right to vote is a privilege obtained either thru birth or thru Naturalization. I never forget its a privilege.
