The next time you happen to see one of those Egyptian obelisks, take a close look at the inscriptions. You will probably see an image of a dog--a rather large one with ears on alert and standing at the ready.

This dog is the Gian Basenji, the ancient ancestor of the Basenji breed which later became the wild dog of Africa. Modern Basenjis are descendants of the African breed which is still used by some tribes of Africa as hunting dogs. The Basenji's sense of smell is outstanding and his speed on the run cannot be outclassed.

My Mister B still runs like a deer and can't be bested by other dogs.
