Being an advocate has moral implications that simple services normally do not. I saw an interview of a criminal lawyer once where a murder case was being discussed. (This is not hearsay, I saw it on Fox.) The lawyer didn't represent the defendant in the case, but the interviewer asked him if it would bother him if he got an acquittal for someone he believed was guilty. The attorney looked him straight in the eye and said, “If that bothered me, I would be in the wrong business.” Everyone has their own standards and I’m sure there are discriminating attorneys, but I couldn’t so easily ignore my own beliefs.
