Currently Iraq has a freely elected government and a large military force, still in development. The current government is threatened by radical fundamentalists from outside and from insurgent extremist groups from within the population.

Currently Iraq is in a civil war.

IOW the idea that we can just 'leave' is a myth.

The myth is that Iraq can be what you dream it to be.
