"The dems are trying and failing to do what their constituents are asking them to do." Considering that the Republicans filibuster every chance they get, it shouldn't be a huge surprise. 1/6th of all bills in the Senate have been filibustered. Or, at least, failed on votes of cloture when a filibuster was threatened. Technically speaking, only the one was actually filibustered. And the media mainly reported it wrong and in some cases seem to imply that it was the Democrats who filibustered...
