let's see, relatively speaking, progressive attitude towards civilization and planet earth, responsible foreign policy, non-terror global status, accountable electorates, better life style, wonderful family values, outstanding education, supreme currency, and a healthy balance sheet by the people and for the people, even though the societies will still go bankrupt, though at a slower pace, so yes, is the answer for now, and going to the future

France, as everyone knows, is getting 80% of its electricity from nuclear power, and will continue to add capacity. This is pure wealth. And it provides power for most of the country's rail transporation, including the fastest and most sophisticated rail system on earth.

The United States is importing much of the world's oil and burning it up inefficiently in large vehicles that few people really need.

The United States is also borrowing enormous amounts of money from China, Japan, and many other countries to pay for a useless involvement in Iraq that continues to be dignified with the name "war." The U. S. military has been badly damaged; fewer and fewer young people of any intelligence or good character want to enlist. Thousands of personnel have been killed and tens of thousands maimed. Nothing of value has been accomplished.

The national debt has grown enormously in recent years.

Much of the rest of the world views America as foolish, greedy, wasteful, and arrogant.

There is much to be proud of in the United States on the local level, but much less to be proud of as a nation. I remain very proud of our constitution, although the activities of the Department of Homeland security are beginning to encroach on that. They are in the process of building a database on every human being in the country.
