Not at all... a cup of lemon juice is perfect, it deglazes the pan while the onions reduce down and it all creates a flavor with the sweetness of the caramelized onions that I have never experienced before... if you're going to try that dish, please use a cup of lemon juice, you will be surprised... also, as the onions and chicken cook, the lemon reduces considerably and you're left with a thick lemon sauce that goes remarkably well with the chicken... the onions are completely infused with the lemon juice, but the onions don't taste like lemons, the combination of foods actually creates another flavor which I cannot even describe...
