I am the most optimistic shareholder and I was expecting the revision. Which means the market expected it for sure.
Stocks trade based on the future (big picture) and the big picture still seems to be good (new design wins, 4 mbit seems to be on track, potential SDD customer is testing the 4 mbit chip, etc).
So because I look at big picture and don't trade the stock I don't pay much attention to the noize. Like in our case the decline in RAID industry. But the market is more nimble and I am sure they put 2 and 2 together (RAID industry is 50% of the revenues) and they pretty much knew the q2 results will disappoint and 2007 guidance will be lowered. I think the $5 price fully discounts that. But short term it can dip below $5 if someone decide to play mind games or there are enough impatient investors who won't wait another 6 months.
But I don't see the immediate rise in the stock. The q3 is not going to be big since the pick up in orders started only in June wich means the delivery will be in October. So why buy tomorrow?

But overall the CC was positive. I don't remember the 4 mbit timetable , but the production in January seems to be in line with previous guidance. Liked the fact the SSD manufacturer ordered 4 mbit units. Also 90 design wins in 2007 with 60 of them in q2.

So hear we are. If I am right and the current price reflects $36 mln revenues, the stock will trade based on the health of RAID storage industry. If it recovers - the market will price in higher end of 2007 revenues guidance and the stock will follow. If market at some point start pricing in $40 mln revenue - the stock will be closer to $10.

The chart is certainly right at ...

... a good 'decision point' ... SMTK gets to decide whether or not it wants to break the downtrend line I posted the other day. It peeked over it yesterday.

Indicators were certainly telling of high expectations for the quarterly report and CC ... let's see what they tell us next about how the market views what it got.
