Elmer, who is an expert in the area, said that 0.5 is *terrible*, and Intel is below .25 for comparison.

I believe Elmer stated he was not an expert in yield but
in test. He also specifically said he never comments on
intel's yields. He did say that 0.5 was terrible and that
the industry uses the term 'world class' to identify DD
below (or about?) 0.25. He also said that intel says they
have 'world class'. But AMD also said they have 'world
class' yields. Industry reports have been published that AMD
does have 'world class' fab capability.

I know your standard response..."But we can't believe
anything AMD says...blah, blah, blah." But you do seem to
pick and choose what you want to believe that AMD says. Why
is that?

Oh, I forgot that in Doug's fantasy world, random defects avoid the L2 cache area and only fall on the unsuspecting logic transistors, because they know it won't affect yield.
