they do. to be more specific - India is negotiating with Iran to have a pipeline for gas supply, passing thru Pakistan. The US asked India to shut down that deal in return for civilian nuke technology. India said no way - we reserve both options for energy generation. US then said OK.

As it stands right now, the nuke deal needs approval from US Congress and Indian Parliament. Agreement has been reached at the Cabinet level in both countries.

Hawk, a further clarification : politicians come and go, and some times so do the political relationships. What I intended to say was : the relationship between the people of India and the people of Iran which is centuries old, will not(and can not) be broken.
