A "short air campaign" would be just the ticket that Admadinejad requires to mobilize public support on his side..

I'm sure it would add a lot to his support. Maybe why this we haven't done it already. This is something in which there is no good solution ... one will have to choose the least bad.

Destabilizing the present govt so it falls and is replaced by a better one would be least bad but looks like it can't happen.

unless the Israelis do it.

Maybe ... if they can do it.

Israel can't do it without the US "doing it" too Hawk. Remember the paranoid style in politics. The Arabs claimed the US fought in the Six Day War! If Israel attacks, the fact that it had to get US permission to do so will make it a US attack, especially if it succeeds.
