A dollar more, for two additional risk factors isn't the kind of trade off I'm talking about. Obviously there are all sorts of different trade offs of time and effort vs. costs. You can probably find thousands of examples where the savings aren't worth the time or effort. Try looking from the other end and I'm sure you can find examples where they are worth the effort. Those are the type of trade offs, that should and perhaps will be made. I'm not suggesting that many people will or should furiously bargain hunt, only that there are cases where at the margin its worth it to save the money.
