Our military is and has been fantastic. It's our leaders who have failed. Occupation and nation building is not an appropriate mission for our military...

>I notice a big trend toward attacking the government problems and away from claiming the military has failed.

With all the high-tech gadgets and expensive military hardware your military has, they should do quite well against the poorly funded insurgents. And they have. They massacred a good number in Falluja, flattening the city. They've killed 100's of thousands of civilians with the cruise missiles and smart bombs. They've effectively used Napalm and White Phosphorus against civilians (no doubt you cheered on that). They've done quite a good job in doing house-to-house search and round up of suspected "terrorists". They've rounded them up, incarcerated them and tortured them until they got the right answers (factual or otherwise). The military is doing a bang-up job at flattening Iraqis all-right. They managed to get some of the oil capacity back up again (Halliburton is cheering that on on and so are people like you). Hell this might just keep the price of oil from going over $100 by October.

The question should be whether the US has a right to occupy Iraq. The answer is a resounding No. Some of us have been focused on the WH, Pentagon and the State Dept. in our criticisms and attacks. This is direction the finger of damnation should be pointed. They'll all be damned.
