"The question should be whether the US has a right to occupy Iraq. The answer is a resounding No.

There was some question as to whether the US had the right to go to war against Saddam but that is somewhat irrelevant now. Once Saddam was defeated the government of Iraq was vacant. The USA had not only the right but the responsibility to stay and do their best to support the effort to build Iraqi security.

Of course but if you didn't have Iraq you would have used some other excuse to attack them just as vehemently. Very transparent partisan extremism indeed.
