Nobody has ever said Saddam was a good guy......but honestly, it seems that we have lost focus on why we supposedly went into Iraq in the first place. It is still possible thanks to the wonders of the Internet to go back and read the speeches made by the President in 2002 and the article in the New York Times by Judith Miller settig the stage.

I still say if we really wanted to go after the government that supported the people who hit us on 9/11, or ignored the people who hit us while they operated in their territory, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan (right after Afghanistan) were the prime nations....certainly not Iraq.

"Saddam did attempt to assassinate Bush senior."

True enough!

(Still... that was only after Bush I signed an Executive Order authorizing the assassination of Saddam, first. :-)

(Don't know about you... but anytime two heads of state authorize each other's assassination... I tend to think the respective actions are probably connected in some manner. :-)
