Fine. Then what is the explanation for the Congress dragging their feet on the FISA problem? This isn't a matter of "our freedoms" as it involves monitoring non-Americans in foreign lands.

Re. the quote, the sentiment sounds ok, but consider also that there is another famous quote that is even more relevant, that the Constitution is not a suicide pact. In almost every war, there have been "freedom" issues - see Lincoln suspending habeas corpus, the Japanese-American internments, the Alien & Sedition Acts, etc. None of them have produced lasting loss of our freedoms. We shouldn't bind ourselves from defending the nation due to imaginary worries about "our freedoms".

Well, if you review the Democrats ATTACK on the Military, the intelligence community, the Patriot Act etc what other CONCLUSION CAN YOU COME TOO? I guess you are saying the Democrats are just REALLY STUPID PEOPLE? jdn
