There is no mandate to punish mothers for using formula.

you got to be kidding. go into any hospital and you find the staff very cold to any new mother who doesn't want to breast feed. they humiliate them, give them the cold shoulder, make them feel like bad mothers.

It is not an education process of good to breast feed and explain all the benefits, rather it is a directive.

A mandate is a man-made law, created usually by one person. No, I don't like mandates of any kind that I can think of right now.

Now a LAW is another thing....We have LAWS against illegal drug use for everyone, NOT just the young.

Do you not like that law? That question is about as stupid as the one I note you mentioned below....

Do you have the same problem with mandates which promote abstinence from drug use in the young?

And to stay on the subject of breastfeeding or not, I personally think it is NONE of the Government's business what the mother selects....she is given the education as to what is best, but truly, it is HER choice, just as it is her choice to have the child in the first place.

Or do you think it is the Governments business to tell her if or when she should have a child?

PS When I had my children in the 60's, the formula was charged to my bill.

Beside, you didn't answer the question, did you? You wouldn't want GWB mandating this, would you?

Or do you like mandates by some, and not by others, even if it is delivered in the same words?????
