Really? Are you sure? When was the last time the US voted against Israeli aggressions in UNSC without watering down the resolution.

I'm absolutely positive. Israel would lose ALL of it's legitimacy the instant it used nuclear weapons in a war of aggression against another state.

Nuclear weapons, for democratic societies, are weapons of defense and deterrence. This is their only acceptable usage, based upon the wide-spread opinions of their own citizens.

During both the Korean and Vietnam wars, certain American military leaders recommended the use of nuclear weapons to the President. In ALL instances such recommendations were rejected, DESPITE the fact that in both instances wars of aggresion were being waged by communist regimes against their neighboring countries.

Yet, with when we capture documents from Islamic militants, we find plans for nuclear "dirty weapons" and a clear desire to use them the minute they gain access to the technology.

I will leave that to the overpaid think tanks in Washington.

Then why don't you leave the rest of your opinions to them as well? Really now!! If you have a criticism for the policies of this government (many of which are presented by the very same "think tanks" you refer to, then you must be able to offer a valid alternative.

Nothing ticks me off more than when I'm debating a topic with someone and all they can do is criticize, without having an alternative plan in mind..

You're a better man than that Sarman.. The world might not be everything you would like it to be, but try and develop a better understanding of why it is that way..

And then take some time to develop some alternative ideas to change things for the better.

And most of all.. remember that while you think the superpowers are responsible for all the problems in the Mid-East, the REAL RESPONSIBILITY lieds with those countries that either permit themselves to be pawns, or actually take great pride in actively playing off one major power against the other.. You play with fire and you get burned..

There's a damn good reason that the Mid-East has lagged the rest of the world in it's economic and social development. And little of it has to do with the US.
