30 years ago a friend and I bought a 376 pound Hampshire, the type that produces the most bacon, hog. We butchered it ourselves and found some 100 year old curing recipes at the library. Got a cold smoker and did the bacon plus about 40 pounds of salmon. Had to train the guts to handle it but it was super good.

As a 5 time grandfather as of yesterday (actually Monday at 11:55 PM) I had a salad and soup at the hospital cafeteria with my wife. It took me so long to eat all of it that my wife, for the first time in history, asked me to speed up!!! But oh those artichokes were good!!!
