I don't think I said that people are hapless victims. I don't agree with that either. We are all participants - but it is complicated, and individual free will is not the only variable- as you can see with numerous studies that look at pricing and its effect on free choices, and advertising and its effect on free choices. I'm not sure what you thought I was saying, but what you seem to be disagreeing with looks nothing (to me) like what I said (in your statement up front).
