The geniuses in those NY credit markets have certainly created a scary situation. I generally avoid most of the stocks on the tape they focus on. My philosophy is that you rarely beat the indexes by playing the indexes.

I expect some ripples and shudders to continue for some time. The net result in the long run should be cheap entry points for the companies whose performance will elevate their stock price over time.

Obviously, a complete market meltdown would take everything down.
