. The land grab was not in takings of private lands (ownership to non ownership) but in land use. Most of this land was BLM to begin with but one could mine or ranch with proper permits. Now the land use is severely restricted to pretty much nil. The govt can control public or private land through use restrictions. Feinstein's goals haven't changed:
1.Restrict our property except for uses she and her comrades approve of while enriching herself in the process.
2.The abolition of private property through numerous incremental changes. Start by restricting public land. Then move to restricting marginal private land. Then all private land. Our govt doesn't have to "take" our land to control it (and in so doing deprive us of it's use).

Please don't misunderstand me. I'm all for Mesquite mine being opened. All for gold and gold mining. However, there are other ways to re-open a dormant mine without kicking everyone else out of the area. A good start would be relaxing the mine permitting process in the Republik of California. Allow the free market to work it's magic. Sadly this is a nearly impossible route today.

Sen. Feinstein does little that is admirable.
