But there are a whole bunch of people who are offended by it. How do you reconcile the differences?


Simple, you're mistaken. If enough people were offended by it, it wouldn't exist. The trend here has been toward acceptance of various non-traditional behaviour, not away from it. The idea that a Muslim should be offended by a bar in a hotel (where he doesn't hang out) is pretty silly, don't you think? The only reason bars don't exist in certain other Muslim countries is because the government of the respective country has made them illegal, not because of popular calls against bars.
