We lived with MAD with the USSR because a) we had no choice and b) the Soviets didn't believe in paradise and had no wish to commit suicide.

We HAVE a choice with Iran - a good one, economic sanctions would bite if they were followed - and Ahmedinijad gives every indication of being a nutcase who denies the last Holocaust because he wants to make the next Holocaust! And you want to twiddle your thumbs until he has the bomb!
