Where's the Africa thread? I'm probably going to South Africa for vacation this December, maybe I'll read up on that thread and see what it's up to. Aren't you from South Africa? Do you still live there? I once went to Victoria Falls by myself for a week, and went to do a 3 day raft trip down the Zambezi River. I was completely unprepared for what was to come - I'd brought sunglasses and was going to bring a backpack full of sodas and chips! I thought it was going to be like rafting down the American River in California where someone brings a boom box and we listen to music while drinking beers and jumping in the water every now and then. Needless to say people warned me that sunglasses and a backpack weren't quite appropriate, which the first set of class 4 and class 5 rapids demonstrated. Anyway, in my raft were 5 South African guys celebrating a bachelor party for one of them. Quite good fun, including the inflatable blowup doll they taped to the front of our raft.
