<<<<So the worldwide market for processors is 70M units per quarter?

In Q4 06, yes it was.

AMD did push 17-18 million units in Q4 06. How else can you explain AMD's Q4 06 CPU + ATI chipset revenue of 1486 million? A $100 ASP implies at least 13 million units, and surely AMD did not have $100 ASP back in Q4 06 (did it ever?)

<<<< You're just making up numbers as you go along.

I am watching AMD closely as I go along. Have been following the company for 11 years now. I suggest you do the same if you will put your money in any kind of, long or short, AMD position.

Tenchu,

So the worldwide market for processors is 70M units per quarter?

Not every quarter, but Q406 may have been in that ballpark.

Tenchu, the market data says that AMD sold 17.6M units in Q4 2006.

About that, yes. Q4 is the highest volume quarter.

I think AMD could sell 19M units in Q4 2007, if they sell with a low enough ASP. But I think it's more realistic to expect about 16-17M.

The only thing I would agree is that 23-24M seems definitely out of the question. It would imply that AMD will have gained >30% of the MPU market without the benefit of Phenom, and during the time when Intel is the most competitive they've been in the last decade.
