That struck me too. With the Democratic party in the pocket of the trial lawyers, I can't imagine any plan they come up with eliminating malpractive lawsuits. Thus malpractice insurance would continue as well. Only I guess doctors and nurses would find it harder to pay for if their billings are held down.

While it may not eliminate it, it should take away the biggest cost component. The cases that win tend to be asking only for money for long term care. Cases asking for pain and suffering and punitive damages tend to lose. So if long term care isn't in the equation any more, then there isn't any real reason for malpractice insurance to be expensive.
