Intel's break-even is lower by about $4 or $5. For this break-even calculation the pre-tax figure is the appropriate one. Because if the business is at just break-even, there will be no income, and no income tax.

Beamer, You may want to reread my post.

You may want to reread mine. The point I made is a point that AMD supporters always bring up from time to time. I know you were arguing the exact opposite, but either way, there are many ways that Intel could cut costs if need be.

Not so with AMD, unless they want to do a complete 180 and sell off ATI.
