(and then comes the actual work... :-) "... somehow, there's a deeper meaning in such a situation that seems curious..." I believe you've put your finger on the human appeal. "... It make humans the bad guy and the computer the vulnerable victim..." The hook that sells the rest. (And, so many different ways to diverge the plot from there! <g>)
