Kind of proposal I would expect from a REMF like him, Take a look at his BG. You would transfer out before you would serve under him.

Like you I am a product of the "draft age". While I have nothing against the draft from a moral view, I seriously doubt it would be of benefit to todays modern military. IMHO the military today is so complicated that we need longer enlistments to get people up to speed. I'd say 4 years is the minimum. I seriously doubt a draft would be for more then 3 years and probably only 2 years. Plus, I would rather have a volunteer anyday over a draftee. When I was in that was one of the selling points of the USMC. We were VOLUNTEERS not DRAFTEES. I think our moral, our training, and our ability was much better then unhappy draftees. jdn
