When the HD is full, it's time for a new PC! You'd be amazed how far we've come. The processors are 10 times faster, but the apps are 10 times porkier, so the net is zero..

Yes, use Symantec/Norton "Ghost". Best program for easy "ghosting", very easy to use.
Ask one of your students if you have a problem ;)

Had the same problem with my old PC with a 70GB WDC drive only.
Bought 250GB Seagate internal drive, installed it and run my Ghost. Takes 2 hours or so and then you just boot up from the new drive with a lot of space left!

Of course it can also be done in MS only, but that is for real experts, not for me.

"However its still fairly slow considering I am on cable"

You could try defragging the drive. If it was full, it is probably fragmented. Assuming you are using XP, double click on My Computer, right click on drive C and select properties. Under Properties, left click on the Tools tab and click on Defragment now. The click on Defragment. Then leave your computer for a day or two.

If that doesn't do it, and it might not, then you need more memory. Often when Microsoft does an update, it needs more memory. XP with Service Pack 2 needs more than 512 meg. to perform acceptably.
