Cars are stuck in traffic longer these days. They're also getting bigger; almost every car parked outside my local elementary school now is either a minivan or an SUV. To directly counteract all of the above factors which "increase the rate of increase," we have to: - Tell people not to immigrate here (e.g. control the borders). - Force people to walk, take mass transit, or live closer to work. - Tell soccer moms to take their kids to school in Toyota Priuses.
