I was talking about the cheering tone. You and I have already agreed that the article cheered the US system showing up the Canadian one. No?

By way of explaining my poor choice of words, I noted that the cheering tone with regards to showing up the Canadians led me to attribute cheering also to the babies being born here, to ratchet up the reaction to these babies from "acceptance" to "glad" all the way to "cheering." A bit of affective slop-over on my part. Mea culpa, already.

(At least I always recognize and acknowledge failures to differentiate when they happen. Perhaps the shock of someone actually doing that is freaking out your reading comprehension.)

Now, what did you think "that tone led to my too strong choice of words" meant? What "tone" and what "choice of words"?
