this thing started (yet again) based on a religion and a politician in the Netherlands. Nothing to do with the Middle East.

I used to live in the Middle East - Oman - and altho not a Muslim, had to follow the rules of Islam during Ramadan. So I agree, when its the ME, politics and religion are interlinked, but the ME is not the focus that I have in mind for discussion on this thread - its wider global foreign policies.

and just to clear up any conception that I favor Islam - I tossed out a participant that was making anti Zionist/Jewish statements that did not add value to any discussion, but was abusive.

I personally follow no religion - I believe the definition is "Agnostic".
