"Oh really? It's bigoted to "portray" Islam... It's pretty simple Nadine and I figure you get it. It is bigotted to portray your self as the Authoritative spokesperson on any Religion that you insist on representing as evil, corrupt, and totally unacceptable, and for which you insist upon characterizing people who by and large reject your stereo types ... period. Any reasonable human being could see that as a corrupted interpretation/agenda and <bigotted>. You don't like the term, fine, pick your own but a rose by any other name has the same thorns. There is no getting around that.

Very well written Nadine. Both muslims and their apologists don't want to address these issues. Thus Gem's derogatory response. I for one do not wish to either find myself a second class citizen nor facilitate my progeny becoming second class citizens because of the words written down about a seventh century nomad.

You are projecting what you identify with ... the annihilation of other. If you were honest about it, it might make an interesting discussion but projection doesn't work that way does it. Honesty: you can't stand the thought of Islam as a successful religion, that scares the crap out of you. Or, of people you identify with living as Muslims, of Islam having a status of acceptability and spreading as a model of success in your own culture. You promote the annihilation of Islam and Muslims and you use "your" misrepresentations of muslims to justify it. Islam threatens you not because of criminal events but because it doesn't validate your views. "Islam defines itself as the last, final revelation of God's word.
