But many ARE intolerant, many DO believe that only through Him can you get there, and they don't view this as intolerance. In fact, one of the problems is that, being the majority, they often don't recognize their intolerance.

Yes, Christianity is also a creedal religion - there is one way to Heaven.

However, your friends live a political system that has long separated Christianity from theocracy, and I bet they deal with that okay. Do they long for the return of the Inquisition?

Also, Christianity, at its most basic and fundamental, tells believers to "witness" for the Gospel and to spread the good news. It does not tell them to make war on the unbelievers until they submit or pay jizra. It does not tell them to eschew evil and enforce good, meaning to impose Christian law on everybody.

Islam does do that. Different fundamentals.

Gotta reply again.

Excuse me, but so what? So they believe there is a straight and narrow path to salvation and that if you don't follow it, you are on the path to hell - if you don't believe that yourself, why does it bother you? And it obviously does if one has to call it intolerance.

Muslims may believe the same thing about non-Muslims and who would care?

I would think the people bothered are those who aren't sure in their faith, whatever it might be.
