CNN is doing the conflating, by calling Islamic, Jewish, and Christian "fundamentalists" "God's Warriors" as if they were operating off the same basic warrior fundamentals.

You bring up an interesting point. This is being discussed in terms of Christianity vs Islam. Each has had warriors. I am scratching my head over two hours of Jewish warriors.

As for CNN doing the conflating, assuming for the sake of argument that they all do have or have had warriors, I don't see how it's conflating to say so. Just like I don't see any problem with saying they all have their fundamentalist components. I don't see that as conflating. Conflating means bringing things together that don't belong together. Certainly lots of things about those three religions don't call for being lumped together, but to the extent that they really do have things in common, isolating them and declaring them is neither conflating nor inappropriate.

Now if the CNN show ends up using what they have in common to tar other aspects with the same brush, then I will object to it as well. (On the basis, at a minimum, of the lack of critical thinking. <g>)
