It certainly appeared to the world at the time that Ronald Reagan had won the Cold War against the USSR. Your imagined history will differ from what anyone else believes.

The leader of the USSR at the time, Gorbachev, admitted that his attempt to compete with Pres Reagan's US military build-up, and investment in the missile shield program, bankrupted Russia and led to internal strife. Eventually the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated and the cold war with it.

You need to read some authentic history instead of extremist liberal propaganda.
