<IMHO Q's biggest faux pas and this was under IJ was to cave in to WCDMA which was Nokia's ace in the hole. There would be NO 3G without CDMA>

I believe there were many news clips that talked about QCOM engineers working closely with NOK to help them with their WCDMA products. If that is true, would QCOM be able to use those efforts to show the courts that it was QCOM who helped NOK with WCDMA technology.

I think an end to all this madness is around the corner. One way or another IJ is going to make some changes.

If QCOM would have stopped WCDMA ,Ericsson and Nokia would have stopped IS-95.Don't believe for a second that Nokia and Ericsson didn't had enough patents which was applicable on the IS-95 and the future CDMA2000 standards to stop them.
This myth that Ericsson caved in during the trial back then is just a SI myth.Ericsson won and got what they wanted a promise from QCOM not to obstruct anymore and a promise to be FRANDly.
