Well, if some of that money went to Brazil and was used for investments or education, then there should be a little more ability to pay down the debt.

Look at EWZ, the Brazil ETF - up about 3:1 over 4 years.
I expect salaries have gone higher too.

To pay that kind of interest you need a credit rating like Argentina !
