"I think the Japanese until very recently live in denial of what they did.

It's probably difficult to admit you were in the wrong to a group that targeted your cities of innocent civilians with Nukes. Japan has earned my respect, which doesn't erase historical wrongs.

That is a very good example you have choosen....the germans have made an great effort........
It is interesting to watch what is happening in eastern europe vis a vis the soviet union and their role as liborator/enslaver......and resurgant power vs a regional re awakening of national identity.
