Okay... my problem is Ron Paul is that he's not saying anything... where is he hiding? Radio ads are not that expensive, and he could get his message out that way... but he's curiously silent on the terrorist issue, the entire issue... I find him a bit too slippery and evasive for me, some of the other candidates have already made it very clear what their positions are on various topics, but not Paul... if Paul wants an audience, he had better open his mouth and say something to grab the attention of the voters other than repeating again and again for the 100,000th time how he would defend the Constitution, that alone won't sell, people want to know HOW...<g>

Re: "terrorism as a ideology"

Terrorism is NOT an 'ideology'.

Terrorism is a TACTIC. The deliberate targeting of civilians to induce fear in a target population. A military tactic that has been known and used since long before the Romans. (Most often associated with warfare involving asymmetrical force structures).

Communism is an ideology. Capitalism. Religious beliefs (fundamentalist or otherwise), etc.

But 'terrorism' is not an ideology, it is a tactic. It has been employed in the service of all of the above mentioned ideologies, and that of many others. Nazis employed terrorism. The Soviets employed terrorism. The US itself has (on occasion) employed the tactic of terrorism. Islamic jihadists are employing the tactic... as have many other's down the long annals of history.

If we do not *understand* these fundamental facts, then it's unlikely we can ever be effective at opposing and suppressing this immoral tactic.
