From what I've read, Paul's ideas for engaging terrorists might well have been a very effective way to handle the post-9/11 situation. But, that was then, and this is now.

I have no idea what his plan would be if he were to sit in the "Big Chair" in Jan 2009. From the little I've heard, he'd simply order all the US forces out of the Middle East immediately, which I don't think would be a very good idea (despite what some others here think about it).
