Very true, but almost entirely irrelevant. The idea that private companies are, or are close to being, more powerful than the US government is a fantasy, it was also a fantasy when FDR was elected, or even when he was born. Its not something that has ever been true in the US, or any large country in modern times.

Yes, with the state in the position of dominance, and with the corporations being junior partners in the effort to stop all opposition to the state. Also its not just corporations that are recruited or forced to be junior partners, all sorts of organizations and groups also get pushed in to that position.
