They estimate that 95% of all TV viewing is still live.

But if there is 20% DVR penetration, yet only 5% is time-shifted, that suggests that on average, DVR households watch 75% live tv and only 25% time-shifted TV. Doesn't sound right to me.

I'd say at most 10% of our tv viewing is live, but the figure could be a lot less, possibly as little as 2%.

The 95% number might have been floated to make network execs and advertisers a little happier.

I have one DVR (ReplayTV) for every TV and watch only important breaking news live - 1%?

The ReplayTV is very effective when skipping commercials, 30 secs per "click" so I haven't seen any for years.
