elmat-

most interesting .... you are a student
of the human condition.

so, if you look to those on the sidelines
rather than those on the catwalk, you
come away with an entirely different
perspective than what your first impression
is and generally, a more accurate one, eh?

a few more of these cuba libre and my
perspective could change even more! :)

But I used to walk or drive around and look: The buildings were not lit at night. During the day -in the Springs where I lived-I could walk and see that the windows were card boarded to block the sun light. No one was living in those villas and there was a lot of them.

like the article stated - the place is
sort of a "safe haven" ... a place to go
just in case. the same as vancouver was
years ago for people from hong kong. they
bought houses here - just in case.

we'd get along great elmat.
when i am having a drink, i am much
better conversation with men than
with women. <vbg>

having spent time there, is it a place
where you would like to live (notwithstanding
the beautiful women <s>)?

I was in the bars -couple of times- and a young lady (about 29) is pressing a young man early 30's about a bad decision...)
She says: "Why dont you do this" "Why did you accept that?"

and so it goes...

LOL - its the same the whole world
over - you can't escape it .....

heads up - this week - teotwawki watch:
- world's biggest casino and second largest building venetianmacao.com opens in macau (largest building is boeing factory which will be hollowed out in good time), twice the size of that other thing in vegas
- china/hk share market now larger than tokyo in mkt cap

same thing, casino, share market

but i am 100% maximum bullish on hk real estate

go go go

latest condo sale in the worst district of hk and way out in the sticks was done in less than a day, 1200 units, at 2-300 USD per square foot, 30% done by buyers seeking true freedom, riding in on buses arranged by shenzhen real estate agents

200-300 billion dollars for starters, plus another 2-300 billion a year topup, can make a tidy difference to little hong kong - awesome thought, about seaside home, ocean side factory/warehouse next to old airport, CBD building with the working girl tenants next to the gold exchange :0)

recommendation: accumulate gold. when everything else goes, gold will remain, ever faithful
