Let say for the sake of argument I agree with you. Why doesn't Israel, recognize Palestine as it is internationally recognized with East Jerusalem as the capital. If Nadine can not answer that question, can anyone else?

So like most Isreali Jews you reduce it to, look we had a war and we won, so we get to keep what we won, now get over it... or something along those lines. Hey, I am American and that is practically the story of our claim to ownership. Not a big deal.

Your recollection is not too bad but I know their is another way to describe all that from the Pal's point of view and frankly I can't relate to either of you more than how iI understand worldly competition for power, realestate, and influence which can be pretty raw.

The religious conflicts are an issue but I am convinced they would be resolvable in the blink of an eye if worldly issues weren't blinding us to those resolutions, which they always will.

The only issue I have with you is attacking religion instead of the corrupt perps who use/abuse religion for self serving purposes. I'm not sure you even get that.

Generally speaking, a dhimmi's lot is not a happy one and basically he has only those rights that the local ruler gives him.

1. Isn't the same thing true for the non-Jewish citizens of Israel today? They are only allowed the rights that the local rulers give them? You probably know the current rules better than me, but aren't non-Jews not allowed in the military, have restrictions on citizenship for their non-Israeli, non-Jewish wives, and other various limitations, which are determined by the current "local ruler".

2. I live in a "Muslim country", ruled by Muslims, and I'm not Muslim. It's fine. I don't pay any dhimmi tax, or any tax at all other than restaurant/hotel tax and alcohol consumption tax. I certainly don't pay any tax that Muslims don't pay. Haven't been to a Muslim court for any disputes with Muslims yet, so stay out of court, and things are pretty good.
